Luis's passion for computers goes back to his first steps with a PDP-11 clone and a French IRIS-10 back in the 70's. Luis's first exposure to database management was using dBase III and Clipper, programming MS Access until he finally met SQL, where he's been focusing lately. Other programming experiences include Fortran, BASIC and Turbo Pascal in electro-medicine applications and SCADA solutions.
Managing IT groups of different sizes and complexities, Luis has developed the ability to lead teams and projects to success with limited resources and tight budgets.
Before working with RoundTrip Networks, Luis served as IT Service Manager for Delta Controls, a leader in the HVAC industry, with headquarters in B.C., Canada and branches in Alberta, Washington, Oregon and China. In his role he was responsible for the company SQL databases infrastructure as well as Microsoft Dynamics GreatPlains financial systems.
Prior to that, Luis worked in the educational sector, as IT Manager for the International School of Havana, a Kindergarten to Grade 12 English Language School, accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
Luis holds a diploma in Electronics Engineering from the University of Havana (ISPJAE), a degree in Automation from the Universite' Catholique de Louvain, Belgium. Luis is a certified MS SQL Administrator and a certified Project Manager Professional (PMP).
