Carlos Armas

Managing Director/Founder

Carlos Armas has been involved with TCP/IP networking and Internet operations for over 19 years.

Before co-founding RoundTrip Networks, Carlos served as Sr. Director of Network Operations and Technical Services for Opentable, the online reservation and guest management with a network of over 7000 restaurants in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Japan.

Before Opentable.com, Carlos served as Director of Network Operations for Babycenter, a Johnson & Johnson company, and the leading destination on the Internet for new and expectant parents, together with its companion site Parentcenter.com. Carlos managed operations for a number of high profile websites, including Pampers.com, Baby.com, Johnson's Baby, and Babycenter UK.

In his career Carlos has provided consulting services to a variety of commercial and non-profit organizations, including the U.S. Arthritis Foundation, Consumer Health Interactive (now a BlueShield of California company), and several organizations in developing countries.

Early in his career Carlos volunteered for the Internet Society (ISOC) from 1994 to 1997, as TCP/IP networking instructor for the ISOC's Developing Countries Network Workshop. Students from more than 30 developing countries learned how to start IP networks in their countries and connect to the Internet under the ISOC training program.

Carlos helps in training Internet engineers from development countries working with the Network Startup Resource Center. Most recently, he taught network management during the WALC 2012 event held in Bogota, Colombia, from September 21-25, 2012.

Carlos holds a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Havana, and is a certified Agile Scrummaster project manager.
